Sunrise Through The Fog
This beautiful, leafless tree really stood out in sillouette against the rising morning sun. I was fortunate to have a bird pose in this shot to make it even more special.
Coming and Going
There’s something mysterious about a good blurry photo. They give you a form and then ask you, the viewer, to interpret what it is or why it is. Blurs can be made in many different ways. This one was taken at an extremely long focal length (300mm) while the subject was moving. Then I desaturated it to monochrome and gave it an unorthodox crop for the final look.
Monochrome Romanesco
A few days ago I posted a picture of a Romanesco. This is the same one from a different perspective and in monochrome rather than in color.
At first I wasn’t sure I liked the monochrome. The color of the Romanesco is beautiful and adds a lot to its interest. However, black and white photography has always interested me and I like the way the light and shadows here play on the photo.
A Powerful Image
I’m facinated with photographing power lines and poles. I love finding a series of lines that follow the natural flow of the land. Or a transmission tower against a blue morning sky. There’s something about the man-made vs nature aspect of electricity transmission that draws me to it.
That’s why I was happy to find another “powerful” subject on a hike I took over the weekend. This is a perfect example of what I’m talking about here. Unfortunately, I still haven’t found anyone else who shares my curiosity on the topic.
